The other day, I watched the American movie, "The Devil Wears Prada", which is set in the fashion world. There are designers and other fashion notables who avoided appearing as themselves for fear of displeasing U.S. VOGUE chief editor Ms. Anna Wintour, who is widely believed to have been the inspiration for her boss, Ms. Miranda Priestly.
Still, many allowed their clothes and accessories to be used in this film, making it one of the most expensively costumed films in history. This is also a classsic bestseller and over million copies were sold worldwide about High fashion, (Prada, Chanel, Calvin Klein, Jimmy Choo, Hermes, Gucci, Jean Paul Gaultier, Dolce & Gappana, Banana Rebublic..etc) and the boss from hell.When Andrea first sets foot in the plush Manhattan offices of Runway, she knows nothing.
The most impressively quotation in this movie was "This is a place, where so many people would die to work, but you only deign to work". I felt it was difficult for them to keep their pride and priorities straight and keep a work, life balance. So my new year's resolution for this year is "to be professional and flexible" for my job as well as my house work.

年末に、Amazonプライムの映画にハマりました。先日観たのは、ファッション界を舞台に描かれた「プラダを着た悪魔」です。（メリル・ストリープ、アン・ハサウェイ主演） その映画では多くの有名デザイナーや有名モデルたちが出てきますが、かの有名はファッション誌「VOGUE」の編集長アナ・ウィンターを題材にしているとはみな恐れ多くて言えないでしょう。彼女は映画の中でメリル・ストリープ演じる鬼編集長「ミランダ・プリーストリー」のモデルになった人だと皆知ってはいるが。
たくさんの有名ブランドがこの映画の中で服やアクセサリーを使わせており、歴史上これほどに豪華な衣装を身にまとった映画はないのではないかというくらいです。映画の中では「Runway」という名のファッション誌はベストセラーで100万部以上の売り上げをあげているファッション界では有名な雑誌で、プラダ、シャネル、カルバン・クライン、ジミー・チュウ、エルメス、グッチ、ジャンポールゴルチェ、ドルチェ&ガッパーナ、バナナ・リパブリックなどがあげられており、またメリル・ストリープ演じる鬼編集長が出てきます。アン・ハサウェイ演じる主人公「アンドレア」がきらびやかなマンハッタンにある「ランウェイ」の編集事務所に足を踏み入れた時、彼女はまだこの世界を何も知らない新人でした。
この映画の中で最も印象的だった言葉は、アンドレアの同僚デザイナーが言った言葉で、「君の仕事は、皆が死んででも得たいと思う、そんな仕事なんだ。それなのに君は文句ばかり言っていやいや仕事をしている。」 仕事をする上でプライドを持つこと、仕事と生活のバランスをとって優先順位をつけることはとても難しいことです。だから、私は、「今年は仕事と家の事に対して、”プロフェッショナル”であることと”フレキシブル”であること」を念頭の目標に置きたいと思います。
