The other day, I took part in "Onojo English speech contest".
Finally I got "Special Jury Award" in the speech contest!
I was so glad to be given such a great prize!
There were twelve participants(speakers) in the department that is over high school students and college students and adults, and all the people except me were high school students!
They made speeches about very difficult themes concerned about environmental problems and foreign affairs boldly, and I was surprised while listening to their speeches because they had studied them hard.
One of them made a speech about the deteriorating relations with China for "Senkaku islands".
A chairman of Onojo International Association appreciated me for my speech. She said that she is interested in "the life plan for foreign workers in Japan".
It was such a meaningful speech contest for me!
先日「大野城市英語スピーチコンテスト」に参加してきました。
結果、審査員特別賞という素晴らしい賞をいただくことができ、大変うれしく思います。
高校生・大学生・一般の部では12人の参加者がスピーチを行い、なんと私以外は全員高校生！
彼らは非常に難しいテーマのスピーチに取り組んでおり、中には環境問題や外交問題について果敢に挑む高校生の姿が見られました。特に、彼らがとてもよく勉強していることに驚きました。
彼らの一人は「尖閣諸島における中国との外交関係悪化」についてスピーチを述べていました。
私のテーマである「外国人労働者とそのライフプラン」は、大野城市国際交流協会の会長からその内容についてお褒めの言葉をいただき、ライフプランの必要性に興味を持っていただいたことは、非常に有意義でした。
