The Federal Reserve dropped a vow to hold interest rates low for a “considerable time” and replaced it with a commitment "to be patient" on the timing of any increase on Dec 17.
米連邦準備制度理事会は、17日、ＦＯＭＣ（連邦公開市場委員会）にて声明を発表し、事実上のゼロ金利政策を「相当期間」維持するという従来の文言に代えて、利上げのタイミングについては「辛抱強く」という方針を表明した。
The expression of "be patient" reminds us the statement of 2004 that decided to raise interest rates.
「辛抱強く」という表現を使うことは、利上げに踏み切った2004年の声明を連想させる。
